history

orphaned by the war garlemald brought to dalmasca, q'mhati found his way to rabanastre and grew up wild in her streets. inspired by the courtesans and affluent ladies he saw on the streets of the city, he eventually took an interest in learning makeup and fashion. to this end he took up a job assisting in a brothel, whose matron saw in mhati the potential for a different kind of discreet profession: information gathering. she gave him training and introduced him to an operative from lente's tears.mhati flourished with the resistance, honing his tradecraft and further galvanizing his anti-imperial stances. he began to insinuate himself with imperial soldiers in the city as an escort, entertaining the desires of officers and passing information to the tears all the while. through gently radicalizing the courtesans around him he would see at functions, he came to establish a sizeable network in rabanastre— a network that would eventually be undone and scattered to the four winds by the destruction of their city.in the aftermath, q'mhati was assumed dead, and this appeared to be the truth, at least until a year later. he was spotted in imperial uniform in kugane, working as an aide in the garlean embassy. it is not known how he managed to maneuver himself into such a position, but here q'mhati thrives. in addition to indulging in hingan opulence, he now not only gathers information for the tears, but also uses his intel to assist the efforts to return refugees to the now-liberated doma.
